Adcrowd is one of the most advanced retargeting platforms. When you have placed the Smart Pixel on your site, you’re ready to create segments in the platform of Adcrowd. Adcrowd offers several methods to match a page URL. Regular expression is one of them and is the most advanced option. Here you find 3 useful examples for retargeting.
In the below screenshot you see segmentation is based on the URL of the page. With regular expressions you can create segment you can’t achieve with the other options.
Page ending with .htm or .html
If your goal is to segment visitors of pagina ending on .htm or .html, you can create 2 separate segments. The first segment will end on .htm, the second will end on .html. As you want to combine these users in 1 segment, you can use the following regular expression:
Page contains ‘samsung’, ‘apple’ or ‘sony’
Similiar with the previous example, you can create separate segments for every single brandname. Easier and more flexible is to create one segment with the following regex:
Productpage with different levels
Sometimes the productpage is not easy to distinguish and the format of the URL differs. For example when the productpage can be both http://www.example.com/category/productx.html or http://www.example.com/category/subcategory/productx.html. The following regular expression will segment all visitors on a page ending with .html and containing 1 or 2 directories.
Above examples show the flexibility of regular expressions in Adcrowd. Do you need a custom regular expression? We can create your regular expression within 1 hour.
